The rumors keep spreading that PS3 Slim could be coming sometime this year along with a price cut that is so desperately needed. With Sony’s leaking ship of announcements the rumor is finally back, and we could be seeing the Slim sooner than you expect.
According to reports on Joystiq and UDN.com, two companies have already been given the go to produce the long awaited slim. The two companies are the current Taiwanese producers of the system found on shelves today, Foxconn and Pegatron. Each group would be splitting the production 50/50. Believe it or not, the companies expect to have the slim models out by early July.
Linking this to the truth is not very hard. Both companies currently produce the current model PS3. Having them out by early July would allow Early August buyers, the time when Japanese sales spark along with the prediction of a price cut to run alongside Madden NFL. However its not very hard to make something up with clear connections like that, so this is still a rumor in our books. I guess the waiting game begins….
