Earlier this, Square Enix celebrated the Blu Ray release of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children by bundling in a demo of Final Fantaxy XIII.  The demo bundle was the overwhelming fan favorite, selling over 100,000 copies it's first day and boosting PS3 sales over 100% that week in Japan.  Unfortunately, the Blu Ray release came and went in the US and Europe without such fanfare.  There was no demo included, and Westerners got the cold hard shaft when it came to the demo, with Square Enix confirming the demo was exclusive to Japan.

Now, however, it seems as if a new demo may be released, specifically for the Western audiences.  When FF13 producer Yashinori Kitase was asked about the possibility of a new demo at GDC, he responded "The demo that was included with Advent Children was Japan only, so if you include overseas, I won't say it's impossible. However, for Japan, we'd like to make a big push for release without any sort of demo bundle or distribution."

Final Fantasy XIII is an RPG developed by Square Enix, and will be out later this year in Japan, exclusively on the PS3.  The game isn't due in the US and Europe until later in 2010.
