If you have one of the newly redesigned PS3s, good for you! If you don't, you might consider running out and grabbing one, and if you're considering getting one as a gift this holiday season, my advice is to go NOW and get one, while you can. Why? Sony is forcasting that hardware shortages will be a likely even, given the sharp increase in sales since the relaunch and the very favorable reviews. Speaking with Reuters, head honcho Jack Tretton had this to say:
"If things continue at this pace, it is conceivable that there will be product shortages, in a very difficult economy, I couldn't be more optimistic about our fortunes for the rest of the year and for the future."
PS3 sales in North America increased by a whopping 300 percent following the introduction of a price cut last month, which saw the machine drop to $299 USD.
