One of the highlights of Sony's Tokyo Game Show conference was the unveiling of some new uses for their upcoming motion control wands.  Motion controlled versions of both LittleBigPlanet and Resident Evil 5 were shown, and both ran extremely well.  Sony announced that the motion control aspects of LittleBigPlanet would be unlockable via a free patch, while Capcom remaind silent on the matter.

And while I hate to be the bearer of bad news, it looks like the only way to get your hands on the motion controlled version of Resident Evil 5 will be to repurchase the game when it's released as the Alternative Edition next year.  Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi explained that the size of the new content would be 'too big to be DLC'.  The Alternative Edition also contains a new 2 hour scenario surrounding Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield.  There will also be a new game mode, teased Takeuchi.

As for the 360, Takeuchi cryptically teased that the content will be prepared 'in a different form'.

Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition will be released in March 2010, alongside Sony's motion wand.
