We speculated late last month on the possibility of Uncharted 2's marketing campaign, but now SCEE have fully revealed their plans for marketing the game in the UK.
Although the teaser trailer has been running on TV for a while now, come Monday, October 12th, we'll see the arrival of a full-length trailer in full High-Definition broadcast for a four week period, including slots during the England World Cup qualifying matches. It cannot be emphasized how important the World Cup qualifying slots are.
This will be supported by ten week sponsorship campaigns of both Sky One’s Friday Night Movie, set to include the likes of Mission Impossible and X-Men, and the Discovery Channel’s “Adventure & Survival” programming. Cinema campaigns are said to run a different full-length advert, utilising all in-game footage, commencing on October 23rd.
Print advertising will be also be coming soon, with specialist and lifestyle media publications such as T3 (biggest Tech Magazine) and Official PlayStation Magazine expected to hit shelves any day. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves shall also feature prominent advertising in The Sun newspaper (biggest tabloid newspaper).
All in all, it's nice to see Sony advertising Uncharted 2 seriously, we hope it does will. |
