PSP Go May Have Third Party Issues
Posted on October 16, 2009 by Dustin S.

So you just purchased your nice new PSP Go and seem to be enjoying it. You love downloading games and having it be completely portable, but your missing something. Your missing your all time favorite game that you have a UMD version of and now you want to buy it off PSN for your Go. Turns out this game is a third party and isn't showing up, why?

Well Sony has answered that third party developers for the PSP are not required to publish their games on PSN and in UMD format. Instead they can just do UMD if need be. Sony did state that a majority of developers are obviously on board to make more money, but their are developers making it tough. Namco for example have no plans to release their games via PSN anytime soon.

Remember last time Sony left the decisions up to companies? Well other than features like in game music, but remember trophies? The lack of support from all third parties required Sony to make a standard feature for all new releases. The same might as well happen to PSP Go, unless of course Sony stopped making UMD bases PSP's all together.
