If you're an autophile, then you are probably waiting with anticipation for some sort of announcement regarding Polyphony Digital's homage to racing, Gran Turismo 5. Happliy, we now know that it is being released in Japan in March of next year (2010). Unhappily however, we still have no idea when it will be released in North America. We've heard that Sony is putting pressure on the devs to finish up and we've heard that Polyphony wants to create teh near-perfect experience. But the real reason? Now apparently we know: MARKETING.
In an interview with AutoWeek, according to series creator and Polyphony Digital head man Kazunori Yamauchi: "We will release [GT5] in March in Japan but for other regions, it has not been decided yet". Asked by the motoring mag what was holding up the Western release of the game, Yamauchi responded "That's more depending on SCEA (Sony Computer Entertainment America) marketing decisions".
