If you've be wanting the Alternative Edition of Resident Evil 5, but were not looking forward to the prospect of buying ANOTHER version on disc, CapCom has you covered with their recent announcement that it will be released as downloadable content in spring of 2010.
The company held a fan poll early last month prompting users to pick whether they’d like to see the game released as either DLC or physical disc, with the former coming out on top with 1500 votes.
If you're wondering "why would I get ANOTHER version??" Then here's why: there are events in the game that act as a prequel to the main story, chief among them, a co-op mini game with Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine where they attempt to infiltrate the Spencer Mansion. Remember Sony's new motion controller? Well, RE5: AE makes use of that as well, allowing players to aim and shoot ala RE4: Wii Edition.
In short a solid entry that will keep you going for a while.
