DJ Hero Gets a Pricecut After Only 2 Weeks
Posted on November 15, 2009 by Shak

Actvision are already drumming up a new "Hero" game (Drum Hero), in spite of the fact that their latest one has been unsuccessful so far.

DJ Hero managed to shift only 122,000 units across all four platforms in October's NPD results, and while this only includes 4 days worth of sales, other games that came out on the same day, sold more on only one platform e.g. Tekken 6 on PS3.

Well it seems the demand is extremely low in the UK as well. Asda, the second largest supermarket in the UK, has cut the price of the standard set (PS3/X360) from a recommended retail price of £89.99 to £75. A saving of 20% on the original price, it is expected that the game will further decline in value during the run up to the Christmas season.

At a lower price, this could still be a successful game as a Christmas gift item.

Activision is lucky they have MW2. They've absolutely destroyed the music genre, and they've already confirmed GH6, Band Hero 2, and DJ Hero 2 for next year.
