Konami, one of Japans largest game developers, has released their Q3 profit results. The tally shows them at 190.9 billion Yen, which compared to the same time a year before is about a 20 percent decrease in profits, 18.4 percent to be exact. Within this profit margin includes the "hit title" Love Plus, Dance Dance Revolution, and of course the recently released Saw The Video Game. All stated to have "strong sales."
What is missing from the list? Metal Gear Solid 4 of course, and the huge fanboy line camping out to get it. Well sadly there was no Snake for the company this time around, but they do have Peace Walker in the near future coming to PSP. So hopefully this boost some sales for them. However it leaves me questioning, why still no trophy pack or "re-release" of MGS4 if it has such a huge impact on their sales? Hmmm....Perhaps its time for Kojima to do something new, before Konami becomes another Square Enix living off one title for years to come? |
