Information has been pretty scarce on Deus Ex 3 since it's announcement way back in 2007, but it seems that we are finally coming out of the information drought.

The developers have released the following pre-rendered image as a teaser to their community (click to see full size):

One of the most noticeable things in the image is that the thumb is segmented, possibly completely prosthetic, suggesting that augmentations will again play a big part in the game. Also if you pass the image through some filters in Photoshop, you may also notice streaks behind the lighter, which could mean the character is behind some glass. The debut teaser trailer showed fetuses in test tube containers, maybe this is a fully grown human in a test tube?

The glow of the lighter flame also seems slightly unnatural, the glow may actually be an external light source coming towards the lighter from behind the flame. The flame is also completely vertical, even though the streaks on the glass suggest some force (maybe wind) had an effect from the left, so it could simply be some sort of shelter, or again you could be in a giant test tube.

Those of you who may not know, Deus Ex is considered to be one of the best games ever released. This image is great news for fans because it shows that they are about to get new information, and possibly a new trailer. The game has been confirmed for GDC 2010, which runs from March 9th to the 13th, and hopefully we'll get a release date too.
