Good news for Japanese gamers with a PlayStation 3 and Motorstorm, Sony is bringing an online expansion pack to you!

The online expansion pack was announced by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and is scheduled to be released on June 20th. The expansion pack is going to be a free update and will bring about a bunch of additions for Japanese gamers.

The first big addition is that there will now be the ability to have 12 player online play in domestic rivals mode. There will also be a new time attack mode added in.

The download is going to be about a half of a gig, 542MB so it is nothing too crazy of a download.

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan got Motorstorm first late last year before the rest of the world but it shipped without any form of multiplayer. The U.S. and UK releases though included multiplayer. It seems that Sony has thankfully not neglected the Japanese gamers here as they are now getting some new content.

Sony will also put out a demo with the expansion pack which will include a course and two cars for gamers to try out if they haven’t played the gem that is Motorstorm yet.
