In an interview with Famitsu magazine this week, Hideo Kojima has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will indeed be getting patched to enable trophies in the game. Fans of the series have been asking for a trophy patch since the feature was enabled on the PlayStation 3, and will finally have their prayers answered.
No official date for the patch was announced, but we do know that a "PlayStation 3 The Best" budget release of the game which is scheduled for release in August, will have trophy support out of the box. So it can be assumed that the patch will go live around that time for owners of the original game. The patch will also allow users to fully install the game to their hard drives, meaning you won't have to wait through Snake's smoking loading screen between the major chapters of the game.
Kojima also teased that there will be some announcement at the Metal Gear Solid 25th Anniversary Event on August 30 in Tokyo.
