News is coming out that Gran Turismo 5 could be seeing a release date on the PlayStation 3 in Spring of 2008.

The report is coming from the latest issue of Car and Drive magazine whee it stated that Gran Turismo 5 would see release on the PlayStation 3 by Spring 2008.

This is a pretty big delay as Sony wanted to get this game out the door faster to try and sell PlayStation 3 units. Unfortunately though this is not going to be the case. Polyphony Digital, as with all of its previous games, wants Gran Turismo 5 to be a perfect racing sim without having any problems.

The revelation was also made that one days work for a man to create a car in Gran Turismo 1 is 180 days work for a man in Gran Turismo 5.

Yamauchi spoke stating that downloadable cars and game upgrades were going to be released and sold via the PlayStation Network once the game is in the hands of gamers as well in order to expand the game.

The future upgrades could include crash damage as well.
