White Knight Chronicles buckling under server meltdowns Posted by Nick on December 27, 2008
The PS3 exclusive White Knight Chronicles launched to a terrific reception last Thursday in Japan. Selling over 100,000 copies in its first day, the title is on track to be the best selling HD console RPG thus far.
However, once again, another Sony exclusive is having some massive server issues. The online portion of White Knight Chronicles is essentially unaccessible to the majority of Japanese gamers. Sony and Level-5 are reporting that the success of the game has brought higher traffic numbers than expected, and as a result, the lockout has occurred. Hopefully they can get this situation handled quickly, as the online experience is supposed to be the meat and bones of the White Knight Chronicles package.
