| PS3s account for over 70% of Blu Ray players in US Posted by Nick on January 11, 2009 Ever since Toshiba discontinued HD DVD around this time last year, Blu Ray players have been on the rise. With the price of Blu Ray players falling to an all time low at $199, more and more people have been adopting the high definition player into their homes across the country. New statistics have emerged that indicate over 10.7 million Blu Ray players have found a home in the US. That would mean that, with approximately 7.5 million PS3s sold in the US, that the PS3 accounts for over 70% of the total Blu Ray players in the US. Despite there being less expensive players now on the market, the PS3 remains one of the best values for a Blu Ray player at $399, complete with online to download firmware updates. |
