In this economic climate, Quantic Dream's co-CEO, Guillaume de Fondaumiere, has been talking about new tax breaks which have been implemented in France, and how they help developers and stimulate the gaming industry.

In a recent interview he talked about the amount of projects that are in-development from French developers, and how many of these have been allowed a small tax break.

"I know, for instance, that out of the 110 projects submitted, approximately 40% passed the famous cultural test and have been granted tax breaks...the total budgets of these projects were around 170-200 million Euros," he said.

He went on to mention that the tax breaks for the gaming industry in 2008 were around 15 million Euros, which although is a significant amount of money, it is nowhere near the amount of money the French film industry received, which was around 700 million Euros.

When questioned on whether Heavy Rain was included in this 40% that were allowed tax breaks, he answered, "Yes."
