Details about community features for Resistance 2 are starting to float about on the Internet and we happened to grab a few and pull them in here. Insomniac has announced that they will be launching a revamped Resistance site at the same time the game hits shelves that will feature more than stat tracking and chat.

The site will be split into 3 categories when you open up the homepage, Game Info, Chronicles and Community. Game info is just as the title says, going here will give you all the latest details on Resistance 2 with new screenshots, videos, and news. Chronicles is a area completely dedicated to the history of Resistance games, the time line of all 3 games (including the PSP Resistance: Retribution) and info on all important events and characters. The community page will be the interactive side of things. The area will include a ticker at the top of the page with several RSS feeds embedded in it that will be including anything from an upcoming Full Moon podcast to showing your own personal stats.

The site will not only feature stat tracking on your individual score but will track anything your friends do as well. The stats can include anything from a friend winning a clan match to earning trophies or other achievements in the game. Insomniac has promised all stats will be updated within seconds and not minutes, meaning you will know almost instantly of any accomplishments your friends may make.

The site will also feature several things to make your profile unique to you. The main page will allow you to upload your own avatar and will even give you “flags” based on how you play the game online and with single player. A flag can be awarded for such things like your favorite gun or how you beat single player mode by only using rifles. The page will be fully customizable to the user, all tabs can be moved or deleted and changed to fit your needs, so this is looking out to be something no game has offered yet.

While this is great news, Insomniac has promised to keep the community page updated with new features based on suggestions of the fans. Stay tuned to PS3Center as we keep you up to date with all things Resistance.
