Sony has just spilled the beans on the highly anticipated Uncharted 2 multiplayer demo, which opens on September 15 to GameStop pre-orderers and September 29 for everyone else. The demo will contain about 80% of the full multiplayer mode, containing 5 gameplay modes, 4 maps, and the highly anticipated cinema mode.
The 5 gameplay modes include the Co-op, Deathmatch and Plunder from the beta, and also the new Elimination and Chain Reaction modes. Elimination pits two teams against each other in 5 rounds of death match with no respawns, and whoever wins 3 rounds first takes home the gold. Chain Reaction is similar to capture the flag, except with 5 treasures that must be captured in a specific order, each team working the opposite way.
Also returning are the two maps from the beta, the Plaza and Village. Joining them are the Ice Cave, which shows off Uncharted 2's detailed snow effects, and Temple, both maps are geared towards close combat.
Finally, the much hyped Cinema mode will be included as well, which can be used to record and edit matches, allowing you to upload them and send them to friends.
New weapons, boosters, and skins will also be available, but need to be purchased via the in game store, using gold earned from matches. In addition to that, Uncharted 2 also allows you to sign in via Twitter and will Tweet your in game accomplishments as they go down.
The demo is set to end when the game hits shelves on October 13, and will also erase any stats, gold, and replays saved during that time. All this content is estimated to make up about 80% of the full multiplayer mode, and will come at a download sized at 1.5GB. Naughty Dog deserves a treat for giving us such an amazing preview of the full game! |
