Turns out, PlayStation Home is a lot more successful than anyone expected. Sony has announced that PlayStation home has over 14 million users, half of which connected to the service over the past year. This is a 2 million increase from March 2010. PlayStation Home offers its users more than 300 spaces to experience, and over 11,000 virtual items to collect.
Sony did clarify however that this figure was "the number of users accessing Home" since the service launched 1 year and 7 months ago. It is however important to note that this figure is related to return users, and not just one-off users.
The average time spent on PlayStation Home by each user has also increased, from 60 minutes in March 2010, to 70 minutes per visit.
Today, PlayStation Home offers gamers more than 100 ready to play games, 50 discreet public and private spaces to experience, and over 5000 virtual items to collect, with new store fronts available from LucasArts, Lockwood, Loot, Activision and Disney. Additionally, more than 400 community events have been held in PlayStation Home since its launch, many organized by the PlayStation Home community. |
